As far as the play (posted) where BV gets pancaked.   The bad part about this is he knew the snap count and the defensive player didn't.
I may have been a little hard on the LB's, but there were some plays they could have made that would have really helped out.

I agree with you coach.  I'm not bashing them or disappointed with them by any means, I just think they were a little below expectations this time.  No doubt they will be back to performing at 100% after a little more time to recover from the last 2 games.

I didn't take it as bashing and never will.  I look at this as discussing what we see in a game.  Think about this.  I could have been wrong on AK going the wrong way on a play.  What if they had two plays called and there was a wide rec screen to the left and run to the right.  The rule may have been for the uncovered lineman to release for the screen side.   It is hard for me to believe they don't know what the choice call is so something like this doesn't happen.

The other point I left off was how the offense didn't always take advantage of good field position in the game.  They could have put this game away early.

hscoach,

it seems we have stopped running to the outside as much and have been trying to run between the tackels more. Have you noticed this.

we made some good run against LSU when we brought in two TE's, but we didnt do that much (if at all) against MSU.

the biggest thing was after the CJ INT late in the game the O got the ball back, and three straight passes were called. I was not happy to say the least. sometimes the great play calling seems to leave the field.

I am checking the game again.  I have a feeling they have two plays called and and it is predicated on what they have in the box.  I will look at it again.

The medium pass when MSU hit the TE put RR in a bind.  The TE released and no one jammed him.  That meant RR had to play the play action run first.  One quick jam by a down lineman and it gives RR a chance to get into coverage.  It was 2nd and 14 so I bet they had their ears pinned back and ready to rush.

They did throw three straight times.  The first play the box was loaded and looks like the throw was the right call.  The pass was open but not completed.  The 2nd play looks like it was a run/pass option and should have run.  AC didn’t even run a route.  This left 3rd and 10 and had to throw on this down.  I would have like to have seen that bunch formation and try to run on first down.

We talk about the troubles of the OL, but on the last TD drive on the running plays they did a pretty good job.  If they can do it then, they can do it all the time.
