Crimson Red Sports

I chose my screen name in 2006 when I first joined a sports forum.  Mike Shula had just been fired and the Crimson Tide was without a coach.  Since Steve Spurrier was being talked about nonstop, I visited a Gamecocks forum where posters from different SEC schools were discussing the Alabama football situation.

Almost everyone on that forum was of the opinion that the Crimson Tide glory years were forever gone, that UA was at the bottom of the heap....just ashes.

So that's when I chose the screen name of Crimson Phoenix and the powerful avatar (that is not very feminine) :lol2:

I first joined a forum when Shula was fired too.  In my case, I wanted to find an avatar that depicted Coach Bryant.  I came across the magazine cover, and the screen name to go along with it was obvious.  So the avatar came first for me.

In the 90's when I first got internet service with AOL I tried to register several email addresses. AOL kept telling me they were not available. AOL suggested using pmullxxxx. P is my first name initial and mull is part of my last name. AOL added some numbers behind it. I started using pmull for my online user name at that time and have used it ever since.

I started using my screen name when when I joined the forums back in early 200's when I got my first PC. The avatar i received and kept after I got on CRS. One of the posters determined I was a preacher so therefore I have enjoyed it ever since. RTR!

My screen name is a combination if my first name and a portion of my last name.  My avatar is in honor of a recently departed family pet.

Well, my story is fairly boring, but I also joined TideSprotz about the time Shula was canned. I was on my first stint living in Maryland and was desperate for any news that was happening in T-town. My screen name is just my initials and .... wait for it ... bama and the year I graduated from UA.

My screen name is from a golfing buddy that always called me Jamos. I used Jamosez on TideSports.

Chechem is a Mayan word for "Black Poison Wood". 
Some Tidesports folks (WV) were convinced it represented an ethnic group.  :dunno:
Just the name of a tree (Chechem) and a cave (Chechem Ha) that I explored in Central America.

I worked in SC, but my permanent home was (and still is) in Fl. Thus, 2Stater.

I joined TideSports back around the time Shula was about to get fired.  I decided I'd use N.AL-Tider because I live in North Alabama and I am a huge Tide fan, a Tider if you will... I  know, that's kind of corny but it works.  Some have  been known to call me "Nalty" in the past.  I think TPLaw started doing that.

In college, me and my roommate had went to the bar across the street and they had just gotten trivia. So we played and we had to choose usernames. The night before we had watched Smokey and the Bandit, so I chose Bandit & he chose Snowman. I've used it off and on for various things since. I had a different name at TS, but can't remember it and didn't post much anyways. Like everyone else I came in after Shula was fired to get the latest coaching search updates and got hooked.

I miss some things about TS.  DD isn't one of them!

DD constantly criticized anyone who said “us” or “we” etc.
when referring to the Crimson Tide football team.  He believed
“fans” have no right to do that –only team players. That was one
big way he irritated me.    :facepalm:     

I must admit though...TS was fun because of posters like DD and Smith-
General.  It was rarely dull and you could log out anytime.  :D

My name is pretty obvious, based on Tyrone Prothro's famous catch.  I switched the order of words as a tip to his speed, and because he was one to watch.  I decided to keep it after his injury, and have had it ever since.  Mostly I've only used it on Tide sports forum.

The photo I've started using is a photo of my dad when he first arrived in the U.S.  His father was an American soldier stationed in China, who was shipped out of China with his unit, the 15th Infantry Regiment, in 1938 to serve under Dwight Eisenhower.  His mother worked as a translator for the Regiment but was not an American citizen, so they stayed behind and ended up in a Japanese concentration camp during the war, where his mother died, probably of starvation.  My dad came to the US in 1943 as part of a POW exchange with the Japanese, travelling by himself across the world on a Swiss ship, the Gripsholm.  He was 8 years old.  There were news stories and even a news reel (video interview) of my dad at the time, which we've been able to locate.  My dad eventually was reunited with his father, who was in a hospital recovering from injuries when my dad arrived.

I thought it might be cool to change my online name to something to go along with the photo, but I haven't gotten that far.

I chose the name BamafaninWTexas back when I first joined on at TS. I was rarely on until Shula was fired. I lived out in west central Texas  at the time and used TS to find out all I could about the Tide. Because out there all I heard about was the Longhorns, Aggies, and the Red Raiders. I have since moved to South Carolina. Therefore the name change.
