I just had to pass this on to the group. I just got a call from my Oncologist, and I do NOT have to go through Chemo.

 Jumping Jumping Jumping

Congrats 2!  You're a great example to folks like me who avoid uncomfortable tests needed for an early diagnosis.  Sincere thanks for passing along your success story.

Thanks OT. I very much urge anyone that is over the age of 50 to get a colonoscopy. You'll be glad you did.

So they found this as part of a routine check up?
No symptoms prompted you to go to the doctor?

Correct, SC. I had no symptoms. They found it during the colonoscopy.

That is great news 2!!!

I believe in regular doctor visits and routine check ups as you get older. I got my first colonoscopy at age 50. They found and removed pre-cancer polyps. They have me on the 3 year colonoscopy plan now. The day before prep is uncomfortable but the actual procedure is not bad.

Thanks pmull. I totally agree with you now about the routine stuff. My colonoscopies will be once per year since cancer was detected, but I'll have it done with a smile on my face.

I hope everyone has a great long holiday weekend. I got mine started today by going fishing. Let me rephrase that. I WATCHED my buddy fish, as I am still restricted on what I can do, but Lawdy, was it good to get out of the house! He caught a Pompano, a catfish and a puffer.

For those of you that know something about Pensacola Beach, when we came off of the beach, the traffic was backed up all the way into Pensacola, about 7 miles. Summer is in full swing and everybody is ready for the 4th!

My daughter who graduated from UNA in May accepted a job in Mobile. We are moving her down this weekend. We left Decatur with 2 cars and a U-Haul at 8:30 yesterday. It took over 5 hours to get to Montgomery. I have never seen traffic so bad. It actually opened up from Montgomery to Mobile. Traffic was still heavy but moving at a decent speed. We will be here until Monday. With one stop for gas and one for a quick lunch we got to Mobile at 5:30.

2, it looks like I will be coming to Mobile occasionally to visit her. Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle and play golf. We have been talking about it for years.

Absolutely! There is a golf course just across the bay from Mobile called Timber Creek. It's only 40 minutes from me. Jamos and his buddies came down 2 years ago and we played there. Great golf course. Just let me know when you're able and I'll set it up.

Good morning folks.  I took the day off so I could have a nice 4-day weekend.  Just got the boys up so they could go with me.  I am going to drop the oldest off at Dad's house so he can start mowing his grass.  The other two are going with me to take his tractor to the shop.  I hope you are all doing good...

Morning.  Coffee

We are off to Blacktail Plateau in YNP to see bears.  Hopefully they cooperate.  Today is supposed to be warm (80s), so viewing may be tough.

Have a good day.

Chech and NALT, glad both of you are doing something enjoyable today.

We celebrated Independence Day yesterday with a big cookout here. Had about 20 people here and it was HOT!!! Cooked burgers and dogs on the grill and after losing 24 lbs since the surgery, I nearly fell out. I'm ok, though, and everybody had a good time, and the food was great.

I know some of you will be cooking out today or tomorrow. It's gonna be hot all over the south, so please take caution!

Happy Independence Day to All!!!! Birthday cake with smiley

We are so blessed to live in a country of freedom, hopefully everyone has plans to enjoy this special day.

Mrs. J and I have been busy with plans to possibly sell our place to a young couple that has two young boys and it has us all excited. Our hope of selling our place was to sell to someone that has small children as they would have so much room to grow up and enjoy the place as our grandchildren did. It's not a done deal yet, they are coming over Thursday evening to see the place and see if a deal can be worked out. We have found a place in Woodland Forrest here in Tuscaloosa that is on the golf course and is near many of our friends. Hopefully things will work out well for both of us and we can seal the deal this week.

We have a chance of some rain today which has been a common thing for the past two weeks so I hope it doesn't affect the fireworks shows that many have planned for today. Have a great day today and God Bless America!!! Kiss

J, that's great! That house and property is perfect for a family like that.

My condo in SC is on a golf course. Take my word for it, you will like living on the golf course!  Cheesy

We are very excited that this works out because of the kids, there is so much here to offer them for their growing up years.

I feel 100%, J. Just waiting for my mandatory 6 week healing period to end so I can get back on the golf course. I'm over half way there as of today.

Good morning folks and Happy Independence Day!  That is good news about the home place Jamos.  Hopefully it will work out as you guys hope and plan.  We have been getting a lot of really hard rain since sometime around 3:00 a.m. this morning.  It is still raining but the really hard rain is coming in waves... The weather guessers say the rain is supposed to pass on through and leave us with a pretty nice day.  We will see... I just hope it didn't/doesn't wash out my driveway again...It seems like lately when we have a major holiday it rains and washes out my driveway...  Angry

In the late 80's, we had a house up a hill with a 1/4 mile dirt road. Every time it rained, it got washed out. I feel your pain. I hope it clears up for you, NALT, and y'all can have a nice 4th.

Good morning.  Coffee

Rain?  What's that??
It's the beginning of the drought season here.  What was green hills is becoming brown; like California hillsides.

Enjoy the celebration.  Fireworks are scheduled here tonight, just inside YNP at the Arch.  A few got a head start last night.
