Good rainy morning.  

South Alabama beat the men handily last night in baseball, but our women got even by beating the USA softball team 4-2.  Might be time to give up on the baseball team!
 

Lots of rain here this morning, but tomorrow it should clear and be a beautiful weekend for the festival.  Woot!

Good morning to all as well.

Chech, you all have really had your share of rain lately. We are expecting some as well but it will be appreciated as we have gotten part of the garden planted.

Today is our 51st and we are going to eat a steak at the Ole Hickory in Columbus tonight to celebrate.

2, hope you are enjoying the golf, wish I was there to enjoy it with you.

We watched the ladies beat South Alabama last night 4-2 and their bats were a little silent but I thought Osorio pitched much better in her 3 innings allowed her last night. CPM let her and Littlejohn each get a few innings.

Have a good day everyone and try to stay dry. At least it isn't cold with the rain.

Only played golf once and both of us stunk the pacle up. We were going to try again tomorrow before I return home, but the rain is supposed to be here by then. The business part of the trip has been very successful!

Happy 51st to you both. Praise the Lord for you because 50 years for a husband and wife is totally unheard of anymore. Love is a beautiful thing and years shows how you overcame all the troubles although not easily.
Thank you for the prayers and the safety. It really breaks my heart when I go over to B'ham because it's not about me but those young men coming home with limbs missing and other problems and they have to spend the rest of their life like that.
One day war will be over and I sure look for that day. RTR!

The cold front passed through here last night, so now it's cool and clearing.  The rain is gone!  And the festival begins tonight.  LF and I will take our lawn chairs to the Oxford Square to enjoy the activities and artwork.

This week is the 5-year anniversary of the Tuscaloosa tornado.

This week is the 5-year anniversary of the Tuscaloosa tornado.

 

As I stood on my back porch that day and watched the storm cloud approach Tuscaloosa, I could only pray that it wasn't a bad storm. I could hear the rumbling of the storm but could not see the funnel itself from where I was. We lost a lot of lives that day but when I got a chance to go view the damage only then did I realize how lucky Tuscaloosa was that only that number were killed. There were a lot of folks at work and not at home when it hit and if the storm had been a quarter of a mile northward when it approached the Druid City Hospital area, the hospital would have been a total loss. When I saw this, it was then that I realized that the number of lives lost was very minimal as to what it could have been.
