Wow, this could be the year that both teams in the NCG could have one loss and right now there are a lot of "what ifs" in relation to the two teams that will be there.

With LSU at the top of the polls and Oklahoma right behind, a lot of folks think that these will be the two teams that will play in New Orleans. I'm not so sure when you look at the remaining games for those two especially LSU. They have a very tough  game at home against a much improved Arkansas team and if they were to win that game, then they would have to play a greatly improved  Georgia team. In Oklahoma State's situation, they have a very big game at home against their number one rival, Oklahoma. Oklahoma has been a big failure this year as far as their early season rankings were but could they be the team that beats Oklahoma State.

Now you have Bama and Oregon sitting on the outside looking in and I'm sure that the West Coast writers will jump on their band wagon with their votes. Things could get very interesting these next three weeks.

I wasn't high on the rematch idea but the more undefeateds fall, the more I am hoping.  If everybody has 1 loss, then our loss to the #1 team in overtime is definitely not as damaging as some others.  We haven't had a big SEC upset this year, have we?  I know Vandy almost pulled it off with Arkansas.  I dunno, part of me feels there is an upset on the horizon and I hope it has LSU or OSU's name on it.

Hate to have to say it, but we didn't help ourselves much last night.  Maybe it won't matter, but I think we needed to make a statement; we didn't.

PS< my husband the MS State grad is SUPER ticked that College Game Day is going to U of H next week when they have never been to Starkville.  Their schedule is terrible and nobody cares.  We live 20 min from the campus and I'm still not seeing any bandwagoner fan gear.  I actually see more Bama gear.  I used to throw out the Roll Tide but a lot of them look at me like "do HUH?" and they just get the Roll Tide etiquette.

The talking heads and ESPN writers are talking about an Oregon vs LSU rematch. Assuming both win out of course. Let's review the first game. LSU won easily 40-27. Oregon scored a TD with 0.13 left on the clock to make it that close. LSU beat them badly. It will be a terrible injustice if that rematch occurs.

If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State they may get the inside track even though they lost to a bad Texas Tech team. Some people are dead set against a rematch.

If Arkansas can beat LSU it changes everything. Arkansas is getting healthy and playing better each week. The game is at LSU but that will not be an easy game.

If the season plays out like most people think it will and Oklahoma State loses to the Sooners the best two teams in the counrty will be LSU and Alabama. We will be ranked high by the computers. Let's hope regional bias in the human polls does not keep the two best teams from playing for the championship.

I don't like to think that Oklahoma can jump us and there's not a team, other than Ole Miss, in the SEC that can't and would beat Texas Tech. Oregon is the one I worry about if Ok State  should stumble, surely the Eastern voters would go with Bama though. I think the computer would go with Bama though in this scenario.

But first, Bama has two games left to play and possibly three if Arkansas upsets LSU, Bama needs to heal up and take care of Georgia Southern and Auburn first. The Georgia Southern game should be a win but hopefully Bama can make their life a little easier and get a big lead early and let the undercalssmen have some fun. It seems though that everytime I think this Bama comes out flat and it's well into the 3rd quarter before the reserves get their chance. Maybe this Saturday it will be different. RTR!!

Lane Kiffen could take care of Oregon for us.

Hmmm, not a bad idea, that would be sweet.

I really don't think there is any way Oregon would go in front of Bama.

You wouldn't think so with Bama's strenght of schedule and having lost to the #1 team in overtime.

We don't have the time nor the patience, to teach the rest of the country about football. Miss State has played head up with LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, and now Bama and deserve to be ranked accordingly (JMHO).

BTW, as far as Oegon goes, look back at the 2010 NCG and then the LSU game in Dallas. They are children and the SEC is Jerry Sandusky.

^^This. When you compare a 40-27 azz whooping to an extremely fortunate overtime, sneak out of town, by the seat of your pants win, there's no argument.
