Plenty of other third-team players got on the field during the Crimson Tide's 49-0 home win over Western Carolina, but Alabama coach Nick Saban said Drake didn't get to play because of a suspension. Drake wasn't allowed to dress out.

"Kenyan Drake was suspended today for a violation of team rules," Saban said. "It wasn't anything that was really significant or bad, but it happened once before, he was told if he did it again that he wouldn't dress for the game. It is what it is.

I hope he's learned a lesson. I really like how this kid runs!

Missed a class for the second time.  Apologized to the team on Monday.

I hope he doesn't have a case of the "stupids"..CNS will not put up with any crap from him or anyone, regardless of how good he runs, tackles, passes, catches, kicks, blocks, etc.

I am not sure about a player that has been warned once, and was told if he erred again he would not dress out for a game, and then goes ahead and does something stupid anyway. I  would hope the players know CNS is serious.

His not playing in mop up duty was obvious and I guess we needed questions to be asked to rule out the possibility of his being injured. But otherwise, I am all for these internal matters to remain internal. Blind speculation is often unfair to the players AND the coaches.

Some of these young guys are experiencing the meaning of "accountability" for the first time.  Let's hope they 'get it' quickly.

IMHO, a lot of these "highly recruited" players have been "babied' and spoiled by their mommas, aunties, granmas, etc. AND their HS coaches to the point that they think they are bulletproof, and repercussions are not part of their "culture".
CNS and staff get them and then have to completely re-train a lot of them in "life" ..for most, it sticks..for some, they never get it....let us hope KD "gets it".

He's had 2 chances/strikes. I'm purty sure he was called in for a heart-to-heart philosophical meeting with CNS, about team polices, rules, an regs. I feel he understands now where Coach Saban stands with him....

Don't forget that Bama has a "players committee" that handles a lot of the player issues, I'm guessing the players handed down the punishment on this. ;)
