Quote
The changing nature of the game and the hurry-up offenses Alabama will face make the second part of his assessment even more crucial.

"It's very important because them speed-back teams are going to have those quick scat backs and everybody's going to be able to run," Reggie Ragland said. "So we need to get out there and make them tackles."

That said, he's replacing the speedy Mosley who showed sideline to sideline quickness. Ragland was all over the field on A-Day, making tackles behind the line, then significantly downfield.

"I'm just trying to do my job, come in an communicate with the linebackers, safeties and the corners," Ragland said. "I'm not trying to be C.J. Mosley, I'm trying to be me."

I hope Reggie plays regularly.  He has much better quotes than CJ had last year!

Faulkner seemed to do his re-writing with a bottle of bourbon handy.

I have been looking forward to Ragland getting on the field since his high school days at Bob Jones. He looked very good Saturday.

IMO we have better players on the D-line than we had last year. Some are new and some are another year older. I expect a more aggressive and disruptive front that can put some pressure on the QB.

We have the old defensive staff back in place. Bo Davis on the D-line, Steele and Thomson at LB and Smart with the DB's.

If we're being real here, it's really about your English major girlfriend proof reading your term paper before turning it in.  :lol2:

Gawd, it's like Valentine's Day around this forum.  First Jamos announces his 49th Anniversary, then everybody goes syrup.

Give her a hug from CRS and remember to thank her for forgiving your indiscretions.

Ragland was a mad dog out there Saturday. We saw some very good play from a bunch of defensive players. I was really impressed with Tim Williams, DJ Pettway, Tony Brown, Landon Collins, Jonathon Allen, Jarran Reed, A'shawn Robinson, Trey Depriest, Dillon Lee, Ryan Anderson, Maurice Smith, and Xzavier Dickson.

I don't think it was just a case of the "O" not playing well. The defense was stoked all day.
