News of the day

At first glance, Alabama's first scrimmage doesn't appear to have taken a toll on anyone from an injury standpoint. Even the few players Saban brought up at Saturday's post-scrimmage press conference, offensive lineman Chad Lindsay (head) and wide receiver DeAndrew White (hamstring), were back at what appeared to be "full go" with their respective units. Quarterback Phillip Sims, who didn't throw in Saturday's scrimmage because of a sore shoulder -- which Saban likened to bursitis -- did some minimal throwing, but was clearly on a different regiment than his colleagues.

What's hot?

Right tackle D.J. Fluker, who was one of the players highlighted in today's story about the offensive line, drew some significant praise from his position coach, Jeff Stoutland, during an early-practice drill. Stoutland was very animated today and he was using that energy no matter if he was being positive or negative. Fortunately for Fluker, it was positive, as Stoutland screamed, "I wish everyone would use their hands like that...with a purpose!!!" On Saturday, Saban said Fluker was having a "phenomenal" spring.

Good to hear people are healing and there were no more casualties. Looks like Fluker may be just getting that footwork down. Kudos to D.J.

When you think of it, it is amazing that he can move his feet that well, they are as big as two crossties and about as heavy. Wink

It gives me much joy to hear that CNS and CJS are both giving high reports on people. That doesn't happen very often. RTR!

Sounds like DJ is ready to make some defense linemen pay this year.
