Jalston Fowler worked with the running backs Thursday. He practiced Wednesday morning with the tight ends/H-backs but was back with the running backs Wednesday evening. At one point in a drill, he lined up like a fullback in front of running back Eddie Lacy.

So will the two backs sometimes appear on the field at the same time this season?

Lacy was asked that question after Thursday's practice....

No teaser; he said he'll do what Coach Saban tells him to do!

Will the theme for the team this year be "Beef in the backfield"? Man, you're talking about a couple of loads right there!

We heard this talk when MI and TR played together.  Nothing came of it.
This may be the short-yardage backfield or maybe a trail.
The first thing I thought was, 'this means Yeldon will play early this season'.

I agree with you. I think the tandem will be a real possibility this year. Would definitely give Yeldon more playing time. When is the last time Bama had a true fullback?

Oh yeah, I remember him.  Indeed, a true fullback.

Maybe Nussmier likes the old T formation, he's got a good chance to use it some with these three backs.

Huh? I can't remember any names but Bama had some pretty good fullbacks back in the wishbone/triple option offense years...

Steve Bowman
... and I think Wilbur Jackson lined up at fullback periodically.

Right, Jamos: KT.

OK, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE  NO JUMBO PACKAGES!! If I have to hear Eli mention that formation one more time, I might throw myself from the top of Jurdan-Hair and let the barners toilet paper me.
