A ticker came by and said Gerogia contacted about 19 PSU players

They did not contact the players, they notified PSU of their interest in the following 19 players:

Adrian Amos, Deion Barnes, Justin Brown, DaQuan Davis, Jake Fagnano, Khairi Fortt, Jordan Hill, Gerald Hidges, DeQuan Jones, Eugene Lewis, Angelo Mangiro, Pete Massaro, Michael Mauti, Jamil Pollard, Silas Redd, Donovan Smith, Matt Stankiewitch, Trevor Williams and Michael Zordich.

However, in a statement released by UGA later Friday afternoon after the list was released, Richt said his program was not currently seeking any PSU players.

“Currently, Georgia is not pursuing any of Penn State’s football players. We wish Coach (Bill) O’Brien and the players the best,” the statement read.

Georgia coach Mark Richt abruptly pulled the Bulldogs out of the Penn State transfer sweepstakes this past Friday. Just four days after telling reporters at a big alumni gathering in Atlanta that Georgia was scouring the Nittany Lions' depth chart, Richt issued a statement saying it would no longer be pursuing any Penn State players.

I think he was hugely embarrassed that an SEC program like Georgia was looking to pick up scrubs from Penn State. I could see looking at 2 or 3 guys, at most,, but 19?!!

Well UGA isn't going to take them all, CR was just covering his bases.  Georgia has an astonishly low number of scholarship players on the roster right now -- you would think they have been under sanctions.  So UGA probably is trying to fill out its roster a bit.  The language of the press release, I think, is misleading, with enough hedge words to give the appearance of truth.
