Tide & Hogs are on SEC Network starting at 2:30 pm. Two good teams clashing.

We go against a good & tall Arkansas team. Hogs are 10-3, NET 30, 2-3 in SEC. Tide is 10-3, NET 23, 5-0 in SEC. Here is more good info on the teams & game:

Quote
Herb’s level of play this year should have him in the conversation for SEC Player of the Year, and Bruner, the lone true post player in the rotation, had finally started to look a bit healthy, which was a key reason why the Tide has been red-hot as of late. Not to mention they are by far the best two defenders on the team, and arguably the top two rebounders as well.

Quote
The Razorbacks, much like the Tide, have boasted a fun, high scoring attack that has them currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament and be in contention for a top-four finish and a double bye in the SEC Tournament.

Quote
Three Keys to Victory
1) Reese and Rojas. Alex Reese and James Rojas better be ready to play the best basketball of their lives with Herb and Bruner out.

3 by Reese, Tide 6-3. If Petty can hit 6 or 7 3 pointers, we have a chance. Jones lay-up, 8-3 Tide.

Herb Jones looking good early in the game with 4 points. No splint on fingers. Good defense by team.

Juwan Gary, 6’6” freshman, played 8 minutes with 9 points, 3 blocks, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. He made a huge difference in the game.
Bench points: Tide 38, AR 13
Fast Break Points: Tide 20, AR

11 Tide players scored

THE BAD

Basketball is fun again. We are 6-0 in SEC play and blowing teams out. Our average winning margin in SEC play is 16 points. I expected Arkansas to give us a game and they were never in it.

Good to see Herb Jones and Quinerly back. Herb's injury is not as serious as first expected. He played had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 23 minutes. Quinerly had 7 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and only 1 turnover.

We played a lot of new guys. Juwan Gary looked good. Expect him to get more playing time.

Our RPI is 14 and NET is 19. Both very good numbers. We should make a jump in the polls this week.

It’s not getting any easier. Up next is an excellent LSU team at their place, then Mississippi State in T-Town. I am impressed with the leadership of Petty, Reese, & Herb Jones (all seniors). Shackleford looks good, too. Their steadiness has been a huge positive for this team. The other good news from the game was that no one played more than 25 minutes, saving some energy for LSU.
