I did.  I read just enough to see that he was tied to the agent and has nothing to do with Alabama.  I think we are in the clear.  It seems like the NCAA investigated this stuff regarding Sexton last year and he was cleared to play.  I don't see how they can turn it around on us at this point, unless we were directly involved.  And it appears that we were not directly involved.

I warned you I was hearing crap about Sexton.  I'm afraid this is real -- and ugly news.

There was no direct mention of Alabama, which investigated Sexton prior to last season, in Wetzel’s report. Alabama officials had no comment on the report from Wetzel, which was to be expected at this point. Frankly, few institutions are commenting because no one knows what is true or false in a criminal trial, no one knows what action, if any, the NCAA is going to take if 40 or 50 schools are implicated and, ultimately, no one seems sure whether the actions are in fact criminal.

Could there be NCAA ramifications for Alabama? It’s possible. It’s also possible that there is no connection between Alabama and Dawkins at all. Guessing what the NCAA will do is difficult in routine cases and these trials are of a huge and unprecedented nature. One has to assume that Alabama knew of Sexton’s high profile and was diligent in its compliance efforts during and after his recruitment. If the institution was neglectful, then perhaps there is an issue but there’s no way to know yet.

I thought we had this conversation last year. Wasn't Sexton investigated for recruiting violations (not Bama-related), required to sit out a few games by the NCAA, then ultimately cleared to play?   ???

Former Alabama point guard Collin Sexton was named in the national trial against corruption and bribery in college basketball. But according to head coach Avery Johnson, the Crimson Tide men’s basketball program will not be affected by the court documents.

“We addressed that last year,” Johnson said Monday night. “Collin was suspended for a game, and we’ve all moved on. We’re just coaching the team. We’re not involved in any of that stuff.

“We’re just coaching our team, and we’re going to support Collin Sexton on Sunday in his first home game in a Cavs uniform. And we want nothing but the best for he and his family. He came here and did an incredible job for us. Obviously, we read what’s in the news and we’re keeping a close eye on it, but at the same time, we’re just focused on getting this team better and that’s all I have to say.”
