Would Blake Sims and his read option offense have been a good change of pace when we had 1st and goal from the 6 yd line?  We could have put them on their heels a little and turned the tables on them with option runs.  However, if we had tried it and failed the screams of anguish from the fans would be greater than they are now.

He played an awesome football game. I think he completed 15 passes in a row and they weren't dink and dunk drop off passes either.  It's hard to complete 15 in a row with no defensive coverage.  His receivers were clutch too especially Swope.

We play these dudes again @ College Station in the 2nd game of the season next year.  I'm guessing we'll be game planning for Va Tech and A&M during preseason practice next August.

I'm not sure the O will be better because of relative inexperience on the line. It takes a while for an O line to gell.  Running backs should be awesome and w/ Chris Black healthy the receivers should be good. I assume AJ will be better too. The questions will be on the O line.

5 turnovers and 0 takeaways in our last two games is not the mark of a champion.  We're better than most but this is not a 2009/2011 type defense.  A really good defense but not a scary defense.

I believe that the empty seats were because it felt much colder than anybody expected.  I think the forecast for game time was high 50's and down to low 50's by end of game.  I would guess that windchill was in the 30's by start of 2nd half.  I guess the arctic air mass/wind was cutting through some people's thin windbreakers and single layer sweaters.  I just came back from an Oregon golf trip where I played in 50* wet weather and kind of knew what to expect and I was still freezing by the 4th quarter (especially my feet).  I saw a lot of people with new hoodies (could see creases where they had been folded) but also saw people ill prepared for the cold wind.  A lot of girls in their homecoming outfits I guess didn't want them covered up by heavy coats or just plain got fooled by the cold.  By the time the game was well in hand BDS was emptying out pretty quickly.  It didn't have anything to do with backups but everything to do with the uncomfortable and unexpected weather.  I only get to a couple of games a year so I don't ever leave before the end but even I had to give my wife some relief and we left right after Bama's last TD.

That sums it up nicely.

Plan is for Rutledge to move to 2nd when Tuluwitzki returns from injury.

Bud's agent, Icon Sports has an arrangement with Mutual of Omaha for all of their clients including Ian Poulter, Fred Funk, Joe Ogilvie and others.  Bud also has AP on his shirt sleeve which is for Audemars Piguet a really, really high end watchmaker.  On his golf bag he has BAMA and Wounded Warriors. He also wears Ian Poulter Design clothing and plays all Titleist clubs and wears Footjoy shoes.
