What an exciting A-Day game this year.  TDs were scored aplenty, and we got to finally see some of the young talent in action.

Tua, QB -- I think this guy is the real deal. He was able to drop passes into small windows and complete passes across the middle of the field.  Not something you would expect from a incoming freshman.  His strengths are his quick decision-making and release, as well as accuracy.  There is still work to be done, as this was against a vanilla-playing second team defense.  In the second half, Tua struggled playing the first team defense, which had taken the gloves off and started to blitz.  But much more experienced college QBs who have studied film also have struggled facing Bama's pass rush, and I wouldn't expect a HS QB to have had any prior exposure to NFL-level schemes.

Jeudy, WR -- there was a recruiting war for this receiver between Clemson, FSU and Bama which Bama won.  This guy knows how to position his body and use his hands when catching the ball.  A real talent we could see on the field this year, even with Ridley and Foster back at 100%.   Jeudy fought for the football, went up and made some catches, and made Tua look even better. 

N. Harris, RB.  Another great RB joins Bama.  I expect him to be the 1st string RB eventually, maybe as early as 2018, or whenever Bo goes.

Also good to see Hurts throwing the deep ball to Foster and Ridley, players who practically disappeared last year.

Hurts is still the guy for now, and having Tua waiting in the shadows will push Hurts to improve.  In fact, it seemed like it was after Tua lit it up that Hurts started to connect on the long passes.

Hurts was 16-for-25 with 301 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Tagovailoa, playing with the second-team offense, was 17 of 29 for 313 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.

Hurts had throws of 60, 65 and 50 yards in the first half alone.

Hurts had the first-team receivers while facing the top secondary. Calvin Ridley was dependable with four catches, 102 yards and the 60-yard touchdown. Robert Foster's two catches went for explosive plays of 65 and 50 yards for 115 total.

Jerry Jeudy, voted MVP, had five catches for 134 yards with the second-team offense.

I have my fingers crossed for the new kicker.  JK is a great punter being shifted into double duty by default, and I would hate for him to be our best option at kicker.

Andy Pappanastos missed both of his field goal attempts, attempts of 31 and 38 yards. Punter JK Scott was 3 of 4 on field goals. His final make was a game-winning 30-yard kick as time expired.

Freshman wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who was the A-Day MVP, had five catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Robert Foster and Calvin Ridley also had more than 100 receiving yards. Foster posted two catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. Ridley finished with four catches for 102 yards and a score. Sophomore wide receiver T.J. Simmons had a game-high six passes for 82 yards and a touchdown, the third straight productive scrimmage for the former three-star recruit.

Five-star freshman Najee Harris accumulated 107 total yards, running for 70 yards on 17 carries while also catching three passes for 37 yards. The California native rushed for 47 yards on nine carries in the first half, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

I think Tua does a better fake hand off move than Hurts. The play action will be huge for Bama this year. but i guess if the RB's start to make big chunks of yards even the little fake will catch the D.
