great deck Chech !   

like Jamos no records were broken on fish and the wind was terrible
so we decided to pull the knee board for a first time knee boarder
this guy is about 7 feet tall and the boys call him Dirk Nowitzki from the Mavs
I call him Dirks Bentley ...
he tried to knee board and I must say I haven't laughed that hard in years

we did manage a few fish , nice sheepshead in the mix
but the fish we were after wasn't interested in  a live shrimp meal it seems
we set out 10 crab traps which fill up  pretty quick and we
stopped in at Baileys store and bought a BIG bag of chicken to throw
on my buddies pier grill
with the crabs and the chicken we had enough food to feed people just
passing by , it was really good ...

Chech we need to go sometime for sure , if we could get 2 off the golf
greens long enough ...

Sounds like a worthy trip, especially the crabs and sheepshead.  BUT, I had my heart set on hearing about specks.  Man, I'd love to catch some fresh ones, filet them, and fry those babies!

Since it's raining, I'll post a few pics of the latest deck news:


LF's planters in the left foreground.  She just put in a huge bag of gladiolus, and 4 packets of seeds for marigolds, cosmos, and such.  The PVC is an irrigation system, so all that's necessary is a turn of the faucet knob.


Water that passes through the planter dumps out into the hydrangea bed, with it's new frame and new soil. 


Lower deck awaiting my hammock and frame.  I plan to use it this week!!

I spent the afternoon completing a few minor additions, cleaning up the wood scraps, adding a rain gauge, and moving the hammock frame down to the lower deck.  Looking like a finished job now.  Whew!

The deck looks great Chech.  Looks like you could host a CRS get-together with the adults on the upper deck and the kids running around the yard/lower deck...

Y'all are having way too much fun without me. We played the toughest course in MB today with 25 MPH winds. My buddy and I led tha pack with 94s. We are spent. Y'all have a good night and pleasant tomorrow.

Sounds like you did well, 2, despite the wind and difficulty.  What did you win?? 

Yes, NALT, we're ready to host that party now.  Bring the rugrats for the lower deck, and we'll put the womens there too.     Cigars and beer for the upper-deck guys!
WAIT, they have the hammock!   

The Braves played well, but lost yesterday.  Looks like they're better this year.

Good morning folks.  Rained most of the afternoon and evening yesterday then I think most of the night.  Supposed to be clearing out this morning though.  We were trying to take the kids fishing yesterday afternoon but the rain kept that from happening.  They weren't too happy about it either.  There will be another day though...

So you did get the high winds after all, that's what ruined our fishing trip last Saturday. We still have the high winds today, hopefully you didn't.

Boy this morning I was out at the City Park in Heflin, and it pounded rain at 5:15 AM when I was reading the Bible. I think told everybody about all the churches in Cleburne CO. coming together to read day and night to read the whole Bible and finish on Thursday National Prayer Day. Yall please keep us in your prayers. RTR!

Good morning.  

The mulberries are ripe in a big tree over our driveway, and the birds are flocking to eat.  I sat yesterday and watched dozens of Cedar Waxwings gorge themselves, as well as tanagers, a catbird, robins, mockingbirds, woodpeckers, and grosbeaks.
