27 secondary rules violations.

Quote
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama athletic department committed 27 NCAA secondary rules violations over the past year, according to a summary on the school's website Tuesday.

More than half of the violations stemmed from impermissible text messages or phone calls.

The men's basketball program committed the most violations in the department with six, according to the report.

Quote
Scarborough: Violations Not a Mark on Tide
Yes, Alabama admitted to secondary violations Tuesday night. But that hardly means that Nick Saban's goal to clean up the program has been unsuccessful, writes TideNation's Alex Scarborough. Blog

Secondary rules violations are no biggie.

No biggie indeed.  Accepting a Facebook invitation to be "friends" is hardly a contact with a recruit.

"Nothing here to see.  Move along."

It looks like the compliance staff is doing their job. I don't think anyone associated with Alabama wants anymore problems with the NCAA. It appears to me we are tring to run a clean program.

Knowing the NCAA, they will probably will want sanctions and probation on Alabama, plus removal of the Saban statue.

I never like to see any violations, but my guess is that if people want to be nitpicky ever school in the country (even Vandy  :o  ) commits secondary violations during a given year. Maybe schools should start sending investigators to Indianapolis to see what kind of violations are going on in the NCAA offices.

This had me nervous. I dislike Nzaa. They are not honest people. They try to cheat schools out of money is my opinion. If you guys are laughing then maybe I can wipe the sweat away. lol, RTR

No big deal, Preacher.  Last July (2011) we reported 44 secondary violations to the NCAA.

Here, read what we said about it last year:  http://www.crimsonredsports.com/index.php?topic=2816.0

Funny.  Last year your response to the violations was similar to this year!

The only reason why this would be news is if folks don't understand "self-monitoring proactive cleanliness."  (I coined that term...feel free to use it)

We open our books on these things to the public...Auburn refuses to do the same.  Tell me who is the cleaner program.
