I was forced into starting to communicate via text message by several friends who would send me messages.  Eventually I was getting (and sending) so many it was cheaper for me to go to unlimited texts per month.  Now it's my favorite way to communicate.  Never been much for talking on the phone.

I dont remember where I read it, maybe here.  But someone was saying they received two texts from their mother, who was in her sixties, the first was the recipients full name and the second was blank.  That makes me laugh.

My 2 children have unlimited texts. It is good thing because they go over 5000 messages per month.

Texts are for kids.  I've only sent one text message: "ok".

BTW, to explain, except when I'm traveling I don't carry a cell phone.  I don't miss it.

I have to admit that I have never really understood the texting phenomenon. I can see it being useful if you are in a pacle where you can't talk to someone, but if you are just out and you sending these long messages to someone, just call them already. Of course, I am also over the age of 30, so maybe I am just starting to become an old goat.

I'm quite a bit over 30 and love text messaging!  My daughter can "check in" (yes, she is 26 and yes she is married and lives in Nebraska but we talk/email/text almost everyday.!) anytime!    it's a lot nicer sometimes because you also can text those people who talk a LOT instead of having a lengthy phone call

Only way my daughter that is away at college and I communicate unless she needs money or has car trouble, then she calls.
