Happy Fathers Day to you all too. Rain all day here. Everything is lush and green. Usually by now the park is browning but not this year. Huge meadows of wildflowers. Lovely lovely. We’re going to visit Earthquake Lake today. And rest!!

BTW that Golden Eagle and its mate kept circling and screeching for an hour. Not at us. Seemed as though the mate with food duty wasn’t catching anything. A woman camped out to watch the eagle told us about an eagle nest that fell when the tree broke over. There were over 100 dog and cat collars in the nest. I think she said that hat was in Maryland.

We have a lot of red-tail hawks in our neighborhood in P'cola. When my daughters came over and brought their puppies, we had to keep a close watch on them.

Good morning and happy father's day to all the dads. Looks like we're going to have a really nice and hot day today.
No mowing for me yesterday. I had to get Dad's yard mowed but I let my oldest boy do the mowing while I worked on my tractor. Dad gave me his 1939 A Farmall tractor and someone stole the rear cultivators and the drawbar. I purchased another drawbar on Friday and questioned whether it was the right one. When I got it over to put on the tractor, sure enough, it was about 1-1/4" too narrow. I think this one came from a Cub Farmall.
I did get to buy myself a father's day gift though. I went to Lowe's to get a toilet seat and a fill valve for one of the bathrooms at Dad's and saw a good deal on a Hitachi table saw that I just couldn't pass up. I might get it set up this afternoon and "play" with it a bit...

Near disaster yesterday. Mama bear crossed the street and waited for the baby. Finally the baby came dashing from the woods. But I was standing in the road with my hand raised to stop the car; it stopped.

Good Monday morning. Back to work for some of us. Arky beat Texas last night in the CWS, but UF lost to Texas Tech.

Good morning. Indeed, the SEC won 2 of 3 games. Florida has lost its mojo somehow. Rain here all day again. Remnants of Hurricane Bud are affecting the weather here, which sucks. But the fields and hillsides are wonderfully green, and wildflowers are everywhere. I’ll definitely go into the park. If nothing else I’ll photograph the soggy souls who are tent camping.
