Morning, CRS!  Coffee

Is this finally the week when we see Bo "RUN AMOK"?  Sounds like he is finally up to speed and ready to be unleashed.  Plus, Drake has been hurting and less productive than expected, so we need a spark of energy on offense.

Remember just a couple of years ago when Drake was in the CNS doghouse?  He's been a steady player since then, but now is frustrated with his production.  He needs a breakout game!

I just want us to have a complete game at home. We've played better on the road than at BDS. It's time for that breakout game to get us ready for LSU. I think Bo running amok would accomplish that. Oh yeah,..........and King Henry, too!

That is one powerful hurricane! I hope most of them can get out of harm's way.

Will be leaving civilization this afternoon for the NC mountains. Looking forward to it.

Fall is my favorite time of year.   It's cooler, there's football, fishing improves from my parent's wharf.  The only drawbacks are (1) the impending winter, (2) leaves everywhere, and (3) the never ending daylight savings time.

Not sure when, or why, daylight savings time became the rule, and not the exception.  It now lasts twice as long as "normal time," and we are waking up in the dark.  Surely Ben Franklin never intended this.

Probably true.  I love my mornings, and DST limits that.

For most of the world, DST ends on Sunday, but not in the US; we have an extra week, thanks to the lobbying efforts of a few special interests.  The problem with DST's rationale is that it only considers use of less lighting, and not heating and cooling costs. A 2008 study examined billing data in Indiana before and after it adopted DST in 2006, and concluded that DST increased overall residential electricity consumption by 1% to 4%, due mostly to extra afternoon cooling and extra morning heating; the main increases came in the fall.  Click here for link

I talked with a group of A&M fans in Oxford this afternoon.  They were walking the Ole Miss campus.

I complimented them for welcoming Alabama fans to College Station last weekend, and mentioned that Coach Saban noted that they didn't boo the team.

"Oh, we don't do that," they told me.
"Well, that's CLASS," I told them.  "Wish more fans were so classy."

We had a good chat about A&M joining the SEC, and how much it has affected A&M.  It was a good visit.
