Former student Nick Saban looks back on Kent State shootings

Yean, I remember reading about that, plus, I think he was interviewed on TV about it. Amazing how one person can be in certain places during big events.

SUPERCOACH:

I think you will have to pick a later year for these types of threads. We have too many snot-nosed kids on the forum who can't relate to a year like 1970 since they went to public school and have no knowledge of history. Try something like 1990, then they can relate to something intellectual like Metallica, Barenaked Ladies, Hank Williams Jr., or Motley Crue.

Dude, the barenaked ladies weren't popular yet in 1990.

You're right though, history kind of missed 1970.  I went through the famous deaths list and didnt really recognize anyone.

Grammy went to Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

The birth year for Mariah Carey and Minnie Driver and the Queen....Queen Latifah, that is.

I was in the 8th grade. I am too young to remember much. If you are older than me there is a good chance that year is foggy from the sex, drugs and rock & roll.

Worked in uptown Atlanta on Peachtree St. at 7th St. across side street from the Atlanta Cabana.  Was within one block of the Atlanta police station dubbed the "pig pen".  They were there because the hippies reigned supreme from 10th to 14th street and all over Piedmont Park.

Lordy Kupkake we are close in age huh? lol. I use to ride through there just to see what a Hippie looked like. I remember when they had that great painting of Jesus on the Wall down on 10th St. I believe that place is known as Cabbage Town now is that right! RTR!

Cabbage town is further south and east and closer to Grant Park.
I think the 10th St area had a nickname but it escapes me!  And yes, I'mm older than dirt! Wink
