Quote
On Paul Finebaum's national radio show, football writer and prognosticator Danny Sheridan has come out and said that the NCAA has the name of a witness who can verify the payoff to the Newtons in the Cam Newton scandal.

Quote
Sheridan claims that up to $200,000 was given to the Newtons and Sheridan says that in many decades of sports involvement with nationally leading publications, he has never been wrong with a story not going down the way he says it will.

Article also says that Sheridan claims to have been right in 45 of 46 situations that he said would happen.

He also stated on Finebaum this week that he would wager 7 digits of money against anyone that wanted to challenge him on this.

On Finebaum (Thursday?), Sheridan stated he originally wasn't going to reveal the name of the bagman, but due to certain media folks (and Barn fans) calling him a liar, next week or in two weeks he would probably have the bagman's name and he woud reveal it. He said he would bet any amount of money if someone wanted to put up a bet with him. He was very irritated and upset at folks questioning his veracity.

Someone with Sheridan's background, and sources coming forward and "staking his entire reputation" on this story should be very alarming to Auburn

The boogers are sweating bullets right now.

You know, they have been living in denial so long, I don't think it even fazes most of them.

I can't say much now.  I predicted that the LOI would be delivered in April.  :(

The slow wheels of injustice.  :P

I wonder if the FBI passed along any info to the NCAA from the phone taps about payments to players?

 ???

If any of them were Bama grads, I would say chances were prolly pretty good.  :P

Well, the defense rested and now it's up to the jury. If some of the big boys are found guilty, we might learn more, but if the FBI didn't forward anythng to the NCAA, then I don't know what to think. It's so hard to be patient when you know something definitely happend with Cam & Daddy.

Will this be another trial where the guilty are guilty, everybody knows it, and the jury declares "Not Guilty"?  Unlikely in this case that they'll get off completely.  McGregor is the key.

Just a point of clarification. Sheridan did not say for sure he would release the name to the general audience. He said he felt sure he would learn the name in the next 2 to 3 weeks and if he got it he would reveal it. He said he might just reveal it or he might just whisper it in Paul's ear.

I don't know about that. McGregor and his cronies have deep pockets so they have good lawyers. I was surprised that no real defense was put forth, though.

I'm not sure but I think someone posted on here on an earlier thread that the wire taps will become public when the trial is over, maybe someone has a better memory than me. If so, the NCAA should be able to get what they want without any legal roadblocks.

The NCAA does not have to await the trial.  They have their evidence already.

I'd guess it's a former Booger football manager (not a player, not a coach, and not a booster).

Yeah, people don't understand, a bagman is the messenger boy, not the money man. It will be someone with a connection to Auburn like a former student, player, or Aubie wannabe.

So you think "bagman" means the guy that physically drove the $$$ to Cecil, not the one that payed it. You may be right, IDK. ???

I'd have to be darn careful who I handed $200K to, definitely not a cab driver. We'll see, but I now think Sheridan meant this as the guy who bucked up, not the delivery boy. Unless one of you has heard different on PF. I'll wait to see.
