Is she going to be really free? Does she know she did it or does she know who did it if not her? What kind of freedom will she walk with, so now I ask you what is harder on her, facing all the daily people or being poked away in some jail in privacy being honored by inmates as a killer? RTR!

FOX just announced that Casey will walk out of jail...a free woman...on July 13th.  That is next Wednesday.

Thanks for the update.  I honestly expected her to walk away free today.

Me too Hannibal.  The judge was as firm in his punishment as he could be.  I was impressed with him in the courtroom and believe he will keep climbing the legal ladder.  Did you know he graduated from Tuskegee here in Alabama before going to law school in Texas?  His biography doesn't mention whether he was born in Alabama.

Anyway, he gave Casey 1 year for each of the 4 counts of lying to the police.  After the days were subtracted for the almost three years she already served, and by days of good behavior, etc. It added up to about a week of more jail time.  The prison system did the subtractions, not the judge.  All he did was give her the maximum sentences for lying.

Preacher, even prison inmates hate child killers. Believe me, they would NOT honor her.

You may be right, they might not. I don't know. I sure know she won't find out now. RTR!

Not on this one, anyway. As #1 Crimson just pointed out, she can and most likely will have more children. That's what worries me.

I just accidentally stumbled onto this link while searching for something else.  I have been telling Kokopuf I would love to see a chronology of what Casey was doing and what was happening during the 31 days.  Well, here it is.  If this is factual, and there appear to be records supporting it, it will make your blood run cold.  Too bad the jurors didn't get to see or hear this.  The extent of Casey Anthony's ability to lie and be believed is overwhelming.

Warning:  If you go day by day, it will take awhile to read; however, you will see that Cindy and George are completely exonerated and that the defense based its case on a series of lies. Also, if you click on individual entries you can see enlarged views.  Read Cindy Anthony's "my space" entry of July 3rd. and weep.

Little Angel Caylee got NO justice.

I'm not a lawyer or a judge but I believe that casey just got away with murder. One of the jurors said that if the charge hadn't been 1st degree, they probably would've convicted her.  They HAD the option to convict for less than 1st degree.
I'm just shocked that they deliberated 10 hours, never asked for clarification of anything nor to review evidence - just unbelievable.

One of the jurors talked about how much it hurt them to let her go. That even thought they could not convict her, none felt that she was innocent.

Taking what Terrie said into consideration, (and I am not one to fold tinfoil hats, by the way) but something smells here. And it ain't the public bathrooms at the barn.

The jury was not bound to only a guilty verdict for 1st degree murder. They could have gone for 2nd, 3rd or manslaughter. The ignorant bastids went for none of the above.

This type of rhetoric may end up getting these law abiding citizens hurt. You can only begin to judge if you heard every bit of the trial and sequestered yourself from outside influences. But if you are basing your personal verdict on the nightly recap by Nancy Grace, you may wish to rethink your admonishment of a group of civic minded Americans that did not shirk jury duty, but instead gave a month of their life to our judicial process.

Nancy who?

What you have pointed out here is correct. It's the American judicial system at work, the way it was designed, 12 jurors making the decision and they did indeed make their decision. I just don't happen to agree with it and as a result have voiced my feelings, but as a wise man once said on this forum, "It's time to let it go", so I'll have nothing more to say on the subject.
