Bama will play a very tough Southern Miss team,  30-9 and nationally ranked in all polls ,tonight if the weather permits. Bama needs every win they can get to help their chances for a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Bama needs to crank their bats up as they are ranked last in the SEC in batting average, slugging percentage, and home runs. Bama averages less than 4 runs per game in the SEC, which is a true reflection of their offensive stats. Bama has no starter with a batting average above .285.

Adam Winslor will be the starter for the Tide tonight but will be limited to his number of pitches due to the big series at Miss State this weekend. Roll Tide!!!

I agree with you that Bama's hitting has been terrible of late, but according to the stat link on RollTide.com Reaves is hitting .348, Bennett .329, and Dugas .319.

Here we go Bama, here we go. Bats and more bats, and hits and more hits. Leaving men on base is killing us. RTR!

Quote from Tuscaloosa News:
Alabama has averaged less than four runs a game in the SEC. Outside of the top three hitters in the lineup, no Alabama starter is hitting over .285. Over its last six games, the Crimson Tide has averaged 1.83 runs per game, helped only by a seven-run outburst against Samford.

So Miss does not score in the 4th and Bama does not score in the top of the 5th. So Miss coming to bat in the 5th with the Tide on top 5-2.
