Bleacher Report article on Trent Richardson and his competition for the Heisman Trophy. I think he has to be a clear cut winner to have a chance. The rest of the country are getting tired of the SEC winning BCS Championships and Heisman's.

Quote
Running behind a talented offensive line and coming into the season as the prime offensive weapon, Richardson has this and the fact the Tide is expected to roll into another championship contending season to propel his drive for the Heisman.

Combined with almost every Alabama game being on television, Richardson won't be overlooked by anyone with a vote.

So who is his main competition at this stage and why are they in that position? Let's take a look.

I see some great competition but TR is the one that will make our passing game better because of his yards a game. Then, what about his receiving yardage out of the backfield? He could really do damage there and with K.O. returns. I can see him being a front runner come the seasons end.
The one I see with the most likely to challenge him is Lattimore out of USCe. This guy is a good RB. Keep an eye on him. RTR!

After reviewing all the possibilties around the country for Heisman besides MFBATR  one name stands out,--Eddie Lacy. While EL may not have as many carries/catches, he'll benefit from having opposing "Ds" limping and thread worn by the beating BATR will give them.  As I see it, his biggest obstacle to being #2 behind BATR in Heisman votes, comes internally by CNS calling off the dogs.

I have been watching some games from last year and I am so excited about what TR is going to do. He has the same power and vision that MI has, but he has the one thing that MI does not; breakaway speed. When MI broke into the open he would often get caught from behind. But when TR broke into the open, it was over. He is going to do great things this year, and I don't think there is a defense in the SEC or the entire NCAA that can stop him. I am so ready for kickoff. Roll Tide!
