Leaving a Legion Field game in the late 70s, out of nowhere a ND fan was making a real ass of himself. I forget who we beat that day but it wasn't ND. The post game crush was pressing out a field level portal to the street. As if on cue, a Bama fan throttled the Irish fan. Beat him to his knees. The crowd continued to push, stepping over the badly beaten loud mouth idiot(LOL). My foot hit something beneath,--which turned out to be a brand new Notre Dame hat. RTR

Applause E-Cred  This will offset the one I booed off you yesterday. BTW, I've never booed someone before and it wasn't without great sadness.

The 1973 Sugar bowl is when they played ranked 1 and 2. Alabama had ND backed up to their own endzone  with only 3 minutes or so and leading the game by 1 point . It was 3rd and long, like 3rd and 18. The ND QB threw from out of his own endzone and a player that hadn't caught a pass all year long for ND caught it and made the first down. Then they ran out the clock.

I was devastated by that defeat more than any I can remember. I was in Colorado at the time and after the game stomped through the snow to recover in the IHOP with about 24 pancakes.

Hey don't feel old.

One of my husband's uncles tells me I cannot be an Alabama fan if I don't know who Leroy Jones is or something like that.

He's probably confusing him with the Auburn coach, Shug Jones.

Laughing  Who's that basketball guy, Michael Jones?

Two of my favorite places to go in Alabama; Lake Martin and Lake Jones.

Alright everybody, let's stop piling on MLB. At least she didn't confuse LeRoy with one of our great QBs, Joe Nathan.

Let's not forget about Orlando McClain either.  He was a favorite of that Verne guy that replaced Chris Jackson.

Hey think about this. Chris Jackson and his partner whoever at that time. When they first started putting the score in the box on TV. Here comeeeeeeee the Tigersss. Whoaaaaa Nellieeeeeeeee here comes thew Tide headed by Paul Bear Bryant. This looks like a barn burner tonight. Gosh that brings back memories. For those of you who missed it, I am sad but it was chill bump raising especially with Auburn or Tennessee. The announcer Chris Jackson loved covering Alabama Football! RTR!

Preacher, I know you meant Keith Jackson and you're right, he was the greatest.

Leroy Jones .... Chris Jackson  .... next ?      Laughing

I almost died eating a cheese cracker on this thread ... ya'll need to stop it !!!!

 Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
