It looks to me like CNS filled his positions for players all except maybe a QB which we have all we need if truth be told. We are the NC's and we will face Georgia next year for the NC trophy again. Just remember this post and I said it first! RTR!

... I'd agree, except I think we win the natty from UGA during the SECCG.

This ^.  I think we beat UGA in the SECCG then they won't make the CFP at all.

If Clemson doesn't win it next year, Dabo should be ashamed.

So should Urban Meyer if OSU doesn't!

Clemson had an unprecedented number of likely first round draft picks come back for their senior season.  They should have the best defense in the country, and their QB isn't a slouch.  Another year under his belt, and they will be tough to beat.

Saban says, "We're going to get another QB some sort of way -- I can't say how right now -- before next season."

 Applause E-Cred
He hinted that it would be an older, more experienced player.  Which means maybe a Juco or graduate transfer at QB.   Huh?

Can you think of anybody now at UGA who once seemed headed for Alabama?  Hint: Name sounds like "Eason".

I think Eason is returning home to play at Washington.

Well until Tua and his brother plus MR hurts moves on we have a lot of QB talent here and coming. What about the young man from Arizona that was on the board? RTR!

Cecil Hurt's article today wasn't bad regarding the recruiting "down year."

Quote
So what does it mean? That’s a different question. Is it truly the end of a cycle, one that’s going to be reflected on the field in a couple of years? Or is a one-year correction, a blip between what was a great 2017 class (you did watch the national championship game, right?) and another great one to come in 2019?

There were structural reasons why Alabama’s No. 1 streak ended that were apparent as far back as last summer. The numbers were going to be smaller, for one thing. It was very unlikely, given the talent on hand, that Alabama was going to land a five-star quarterback or running back and get the rankings bump that comes with it.

The usual geographic area where Alabama thrives wasn’t particularly prospect-rich — not only did the Crimson Tide sign as many prospects from South Carolina as it did from Alabama, but it signed more from Indiana (1) than Georgia (0), more from Utah (1) than Mississippi. The coaching staff turnover that comes most years cost Alabama a five-star or two, although Saban deflected a question about that by praising the new coaches that he has hired and the relationships they will develop. Still, he knew that the timing wasn’t necessarily perfect.

Saban has gone to a group of younger coaches who should be kick-ass recruiters next year.  He could have gotten the older, established guys like LSU did (and failed), but he went with youth.  I'm betting it pays dividends, as recruits identify with the younger coaches.

ALSO, keep in mind that elite players stay for at least 3 years.  We only need to stock the cupboard with 5-star types 1-2 of every 3 years to stay on top!  This year we got 2 legit ones, so we didn't fall off any.  Last year we got at least 5.

All of that negative recruiting from UGA, where they showed recruits our big board (indicating that the recruits were low on Alabama's priority), won't work next year.  And thanks to their success this year, UGA will have a full cupboard of players, and recruits will look elsewhere.

I am not as worried about recruits as I use to in the past. CNS knows what a cupboard is and he has the blueprint to keep the corners strong and build up the middle. He is the best and when our new coaches mess the different areas we will be getting 5's and 4's from we will always be strong. JMPO. RTR!
