Title: ESPN: SEC members of 2012 ESPNU 150
Post by: pmull on June 08, 2011, 12:47:20 PM
CNS is a recruiting machine. Things look good again for the 2012 class.

Quote
Alabama has the most ESPNU 150 members in the SEC with six pledges on the list. Florida is second with four. Every year it seems like these two schools are battling to see who can get the most ESPNU 150 members and this year appears to be no different.

The defending champs have some ground to make up. Auburn has just two of its seven commitments in the ESPNU 150.

Alabama has the highest-rated commitment in Panama City, Fla., Arnold safety Eddie Williams, who is ranked as the fifth-best prospect on the list. Williams was the first prospect to commit to Alabama in the 2012 class. Williams has played all over the field, but will likely stay as a defensive back in college.

It gets better. Here's an excellent summary put together by CrimsonChris over at the Woolly:

Quote
Bama targets:

2. Eddie Goldman - Recently named a top 15 of Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Clemson, Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, California, LSU, and Oklahoma. No idea where he's leaning, but I think Bama has as good a chance or better than anyone.
3. Dorial Green-Beckham - Supposedly a slight Bama lean over OU and Missouri
6. Keith Marshall - Probably ends up at UNC or Georgia before Bama
7. DJ Humphries - No idea, but think he'll end up at UNC
9. Stefon Diggs - Tough to say
11. Travis Blanks - AU lean
12. Gunner Kiel - Bama lean, over OU
15. Jameis Winston - Bama lean, FSU and LSU contending, might not choose Bama if Kiel commits
16. Kwon Alexander - Tossup between AU and UA, hearing slight lean to UA right now.
23. Rushel Shell - Had a top six of Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Pitt, Oregon and Auburn. With the problems at Ohio State, I like Bama's chances.
27. John Theus - Between UGA and UF
29. Chris Black - Slight Bama lean over FSU
31. Geno Smith - Has a final five of Notre Dame, Texas, Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee, but I think it comes down to UA or AU. I like our chances.
33. Quay Evans - Was a Bama lean before Bo Davis left. Now a heavy MSU lean.
37. Cyrus Jones - strong Bama lean
44. Jonathan Taylor - He and teammate James Deloach are favoring UGA then Georgia Tech over Bama right now.
46. Shaq Roland - Heavy USCe lean
51. Landon Collins - Tossup between LSU and UA. I'd give the edge to LSU.
62. Duron Neal - Bama lean, but Missouri and OU have supposedly made up ground.
63. Jordan Jenkins - Hard to read, but I think he's favoring UGA over Bama.
73. Ricky Parks - Was a Bama lean, now an AU lean with UGA and Bama chasing
78. Barry Sanders - Had a top four of FSU, Bama, Okie State, and UCLA. Now likes Stanford and Oregon, among others. Could get interesting.
80. Chad Kelly - Heavy Clemson lean
91. Vadal Alexander - Tough read. No UGA. Probably between Bama and LSU.
96. Aldolphus Washington - Was favoring Ohio State with teammate Dwayne Stanford. Now I think it comes down to Bama or Michigan for the duo, with UM having an edge.
110. Marvin Bracy - Doesn't say much, think he'll end up at UF.
111. Dwayne Stanford - See above.
118. Justin Shanks - Was a heavy Bama lean, but AU has supposedly made up some ground. Still think we get him.
121. TJ Yeldon - Supposedly 50-50 between AU and UA, but I see him at the Barn.
124. John Atkins - Was a Bama lean until UGA offered. Now I think he ends up a Dawg.
127. Beniquez Brown - Despite being an AU fan, I think Alabama has a significant lead and will land him. Expect AU to make up ground.
147. Kent Taylor - No real favorites right now, but I think it comes down to UF, AU, or UA. I like our chances.
