Young was locked in on Alabama even being aware of the possibility that Tua Tagovailoa could return to school instead of turning pro, which would keep Young from getting a chance to compete for the Tide starting quarterback job until 2021.

That scenario was discussed with coaches.

“They’ve talked about that — and we talked about the positives of Tua coming back and then you know the negatives,” Craig Young said. “Obviously the positives would be — if he were to come back — that’s a year of being able to get bigger, get stronger, learn from him. And then the negatives, obviously maybe that would push your timetable back a little bit further. But for Bryce, it really didn’t matter either way....

There was a time when we had so many 6-star RBs that we were all afraid that we would lose some/most to transfer.  Is that mind-set now regarding QBs?

I think we know we can't keep them all. That's a shame, because they are all talented.
