Or maybe we should let the OP wager their own e-cred based on how accurate they think their information is.  That certainly has potential.  It would allow people to post things they are not 100% sure about and let everyone who reads it to get a feel for how accurate it is.  Sort of like a numerical based TIFWIW system.  What do you guys think about that?

You would first have to establish whether or not a subject or post is wager worthy. # of BSs?

Yes, I like it too.  So chief what would you like to wager on this one?

I guess the allowable range will be 0 to 1/2 your e-cred.  I would hate to bust somebody down to 0 if something they honestly thought was true didn't pan out.  Another benefit of this idea is that a new person with no e-cred won't have much to wager.

I'm starting to really like this idea.

The potential is huge. You need to determine a thread wager worthy, then set a time limit to wager.

Yes, good point.  We wouldn't want people to wager on silly things that are certain to happen just to boost their e-cred.

Let's see... anybody who is on the most e-cred list or is a mod can decide if it is wager worthy.  Of course you can't claim your own post is wager worthy, it has to be somebody different than the OP.

Wager worthy icon?

Yes, we need a smiley for this.  I will see what I can find.  If you post this smiley (and you are authorized to do so) then that is the official stamp that it is wager worthy.

And you don't want someone to be able to lollygag until it is confirmed or not confirmed to wager.

More than one wager smiley, say 5, to qualify. Conspiracy theorist.

Maybe five is too many. You don'twant a guy sitting around hitting refresh to get the 5th one. But if two people got together on a bunch of threads, they could boost their totals to the thousands in an hour.

This one is a little tougher, since there are times during the day when a lot of people are on here and there are other dead periods like 2:00 AM.  Maybe we have up to 24 hours to get the 5 wager worthy stamps.  That way it gives you a full cycle regardless of where you are in the world.  If the story breaks open before you get the 5 wager worthy stamps then all bets are off.
