Title: Baylor President Fired
Post by: Marshal Dillon on May 24, 2016, 03:29:23 PM
Waiting for the other shoe to drop. I bet AD & Briles are next.

Baylor University's Board of Regents has voted to fire university president and chancellor Ken Starr due to the university's sexual assaults scandal, our sister station in Waco, KCEN-TV, has confirmed.

Baylor University did not officially confirm the news on Tuesday. A university spokesperson told News 8's Jason Wheeler, as of today, Starr remains the president and chancellor.

A statement released by the university earlier Tuesday said Baylor expects to make an announcement regarding the board of regents' decision by June 3, after they finish reviewing an investigation by an outside law firm into the university's handling of sexual assault claims made against athletes in its football program.

I applaud the Baylor University Board of Regents!!! #+ #+ #+
This type of aggression by the players seem to be an epidemic in the NCAA with most reports being in the football prorams  and in most cases it has been swept under the rug by the coaches and university officials. It's about time all universities bond together with some rules and rid their programs of the low life scum athletes that continue to commit these acts and expect a pardon because they are an athlete. If it's not the guns and dope, it's assaulting women and it's time someone take the proper action to clean this mess up nationwide.

Maybe the action by Baylor with ignite the fire for the proper action against the schools and players that choose to involve themselves in such acts of committing the crimes and the others that are doing the cover up.

My guess is that the Regents had previously stressed their concerns to Starr but he refused to do anything about the situation. The latest revelations led to his firing. You start at the top & work your way down.

WFAA would not run a story like this unless they had VERY credible sources.

So, assuming this turns out to be true, gotta say I'm shocked that Ken Star would ignore the situation.  Guess we can expect the AD and Briles to all be out on June 3.

HS Coach -- Are you out there?  What do you hear?

This Title 9 stuff is BIG.  Every accusation must be explored and investigated, and every person (male) involved must be punished.  It's a bit crazy, but apparently the Title-9 police have the universities by the throat now.  It's worrisome, because an accusation can be enough to ruin a career.  The pendulum has swung beyond level, and it'll be a while before it finds a balance.  Right now, if I were a college male, I'd print out a lengthy document for her signature before having sex with a coed (sarcasm)!  She can say "yes" before the act, then deny it later.  NOT THAT SUCH EVER HAPPENS!!  :eyeroll: :eyeroll: :eyeroll: :eyeroll:

During NCAA recruiting investigations, the NCAA could be satisfied by dismissal of one official in their cases.  This is not the same.  The chancellor being fired won't satisfy the Title-9 folks.  Briles might be in trouble, but the discussion I heard on Sirius Radio yesterday (ESPN) gave reason to believe that Briles wasn't as involved as coaches were at Tennessee or FSU.  He has a strong following, and it'll be a fight.

Once the Title 9 dust settles, how likely is it that an NCAA investigation will follow?

Well this is sad but all the glamour all the media and schools give these kids they think they are entitled to act any way they want to. Rape, thief or whatever they did in the hood they were told no telling what during recruiting and they think it is OK they play football or basketball. RTR!

Zero.  The NCAA has its attention elsewhere these days.

Finally!! They cleaned or should I say cleansed the university.

Quote
Former Baylor University President Ken Starr resigned his post as a law school professor Friday, severing his last tie with the faith-based campus still reeling from a sexual assault scandal involving its football team.

Quote
Baylor, the nation's largest Baptist university, said in a joint statement issued with Starr that he "will be leaving his faculty status and tenure" with the law school in a separation that was mutually agreed upon. It was Starr's final remaining Baylor position.

And now because of all this, Baylor will revert back to irrelevancy.

Actually Baylor has not been that great of a factor anyway have they? They just got to play TCU who is another team to have the ball bounce their way a lot. I am sorry but none of the Big 12 teams impress me even Oklahoma when they beat us in the Sugar Bowl was not better than us; we just play way below our level because the expectations were so high, I believe. RTR!
