Maybe he already knew he was going to lose his scholarship because of grades.

With all of our injuries on linebacker this year, and he still got no meaningful playing time on D as a redshirt sophomore. I'm not sure what his GPA stands at, but you don't have to be that bright to read that writing on the wall.
