Title: UPDATE ON RECEIVERS - Injuries and Likely Starters
Post by: Chechem on August 25, 2022, 05:35:38 AM

One of the names that has been less discussed during fall camp has been Louisville transfer Tyler Harrell, who arrived in Tuscaloosa this summer billed for his big-play ability. Harrell had a sprained foot “for a while,” coach Nick Saban revealed Wednesday, but is starting to turn the corner after three weeks of fall camp.  “He wasn’t able to practice all the time,” Saban said. “But now the last, probably the last scrimmage and this week -- Tuesday, Wednesday of this week -- he’s started to get more reps, I think he’s started to get more confident...

Now healthy, Harrell could accelerate his push for playing time in a wide receiver room that is headlined by Georgia transfer Jermaine Burton and sophomore Ja’Corey Brooks. Saban has praised Burton as the team’s most consistent receiver, while Saban said earlier in camp that Brooks was doing “really well.”

There is also sophomore JoJo Earle, who will be out until approximately early October because of a broken foot but would be a leading candidate to play out of the slot for Alabama. Junior Traeshon Holden is also in the mix and had a “really good day” during a highlight-reel scrimmage last Saturday...

I think after our rebuilding year last year, we Everything U. Our "D" should be a monster this year. Our offense should rather improved. I am just waiting to see how our Special Teams goes. I think before it is over with we will be known as Injury University. RTR!

Really need a couple of receivers to step up big time. I'm looking at JaCorey Brooks, 6'2", to blossom and Burton & Harrell to shine catching the ball. If Holden can make a difference lookout, at 6'3" 214 lbs he might be another Julio. Can't wait to see the team play.

MD I have to agree with you. It would be nice to have a couple of 1000 yd. receivers this year. RTR!
