And, yes, the sole reason you are reading about the No. 132 cornerback in the country giving a non-binding verbal commitment on this website is because of his surname.

New Rochelle, N.Y., defensive back Justin Combs, the son of Diddy/P. Diddy/Puff Daddy/Sean “Puffy” Combs, committed — through a press release issued by a PR firm — to play his college football with the Bruins.  The verbal commitment by Justin Combs, a two-star prospect and the No. 132 CB in the Class of 2012 according to Scout.com, comes one day after it was officially announced that the man ultimately responsible for recruiting him, Rick Neuheisel, would not be the Bruins’ head coach beyond the 2011 season.

Oh, sorry.  I thought the mountain people were into "swagga".  Here's a pic of Puff Daddy from his "Gangsta sh-t" video:

The real story here is how a team located in one of the most talent-rich areas in the country has to recruit the 132nd CB prospect in the country. UCLA just needs a real coach to have some great football teams Wow, just unbelievable.

UCLA, USC, and Stanford all use the Hollywood star power approach to recruiting. It is hard to understand how they ever lose a recruiting battle (USC sanctions?).

I went to high school with a Parade All-American RB. USC had Opie Cunningham pick him up at the airport and OJ toured him around campus. Beautiful women, great weather, swimming pools, movie stars. The only down side is that the whole country knows that people in California are a bunch of kooks. BTW, my classmate stayed home to play his college ball-- had several mediocre years with the Rams.
