If what Lane Kiffin is doing at Alabama looks familiar, it should. The Crimson Tide's new offensive coordinator brought some of his favorite concepts from USC. But as No. 1 Alabama has averaged almost 600 yards through four games, there's something else going on, too.

In what appears to be an attempt to adapt to personnel — and perhaps, to changing times — some of what Alabama is doing looks startlingly like, well …
