Good sign that CAJ was able to hold on to this guy.  Now I want to see what he does with the remaining schollys.

I think Ingram played his recruitment very smart. He verbally committed to Alabama in the early signing period. He signed some school paperwork that committed the school to him but because he did not sign his LOI he could still back out. Recruits in this state had to know Grant was on the hot seat. He decommitted, waited till a new coach was hired and let the Coach Johnson re-recruit him. Very smart on his part IMO.

He had two hats on the table. Kentucky and Alabama. I do not think he had a UK offer. UK was using him as a backup plan if they do not get their first picks. He had offers from other schools but UK was not one of them. I think he just wanted the new coach to be selected and feel him out. His HS coach said he had developed a strong relationship with assistant coach Pettway. Pettway being retained on the staff also helped. CAJ and Pettway visited him twice in the last week.

I think this was a win-win-win for Ingram, CAJ and our basketball program.

Now we need two more to sign up in the late signing period. CAJ says he is looking at transfers and JUCO that can play immediately as well as uncommitted HS seniors.

A 6'8"-6'9" beast under the basket would be nice.
