Moving on: Marcell Dareus leaves the Crimson Tide as an early NFL Draft entrant after three years. Although he was never able to put together a dominant season from start to finish as a full-time starter, his talent was undeniable, and players with his physical skills come along maybe twice a decade even at a big-time college program. Reserve end Luther Davis also moves on.

Moving forward: Starters Josh Chapman (nose guard) and Damion Square (end) return for their senior and junior seasons, respectively. Chapman has been a steady contributor since he was a freshman, when he substituted for Terrence Cody on a regular basis. He played the best football of his career as a starter in 2010. Square chipped in seven tackles for loss and three sacks last season, and will look to expand on those big-play numbers in 2011. Kerry Murphy and Darrington Sentimore saw part-time action at the end position last year, but Murphy will miss spring drills for medical reasons.

Moving day: Junior college transfers Quinton Dial (East Mississippi Community College) and Jesse Williams (Arizona Western Comunity College) join the competition this spring at defensive end and nose guard, respectively. Williams, at 325 pounds, could have the greater impact at a position that isn't as deep in numbers as the end spots. January enroller Wilson Love is also getting his first action this spring after sitting out the 2010 season as a grayshirt.

If these two guys come through, we're in great shape.  RTR.

Should help him having Chapman in there as a mentor, especially if we can play them both and keep both fresh.

Physically both of them are big and strong, but the Saban system doesn't come easy for everyone. Hopefully they will have a good spring because these two can make a difference in Bama's defense.

Spring is another taste of the great need for our college football play. Now we see we have all the big time recruits lined up and we hope they turnout to be the game players we were hoping for. RTR!
