Possible raise and contract extension for Coach Grant

NEW YORK | University of Alabama athletics director Mal Moore said Wednesday night that he would "have discussions" with head basketball coach Anthony Grant about "the future direction" of UA basketball and while Moore would not discuss what those discussions might include, sources have indicated that a contract extension for Grant and pay raises for both Grant and his assistants are likely to be forthcoming.

"We'll talk about all that after the season," Moore said in New York, where he will attend Alabama's NIT championship game against Wichita State tonight.

Grant has just completed the second year of a seven-year contract worth $1.8 million annually.

For not making the final 68? CMM should put the boot to CAG if he comes sniffing around for more money. He owes us money back. CMM should make him mow his lawn this summer to make up for the technical foul he received against Vandy. If anyone was to hit him up with a bonus, it should be VCU. I kid CAG. Lol.

CAG name is on everyone's list that is looking to hire a coach. I say extend his contract and keep him happy.

He has the fan base excited and good attendance at the games. The last 5 SEC home games were sold out. Our program is only going to get better under CAG.

I had read in an article someone here had posted from the Tennessee basketball coaching search, that it was reported to UTk that CAG was not happy in T'town. Has anyone heard anything about this? Anything to it or just UT wishful thinking?
