Quote Former University of Alabama and NFL football player Alonzo Ephraim was arrested on drug and gun charges in Jefferson County. Ephraim, 34, was stopped Monday night on a traffic violation in Pleasant Grove. Lt. Danny Reid said officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana and questioned the former All – SEC player. He was cooperative and admitted there was Ecstasy, or Molly, in the vehicle, as well as a small amount of marijuana.
