Title: Trevor Releford leads Alabama into NIT semifinals Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 23, 2011, 11:23:58 PM Quote Freshman guard Trevor Releford scored 22 points to lead Alabama to a 79-64 victory over Miami in the quarterfinals of the NIT on Wednesday night. Senior Senario Hillman, playing in his last game in Coleman Coliseum where Alabama went a school-record 19-0 this season, scored 17 points and set a school record with 175 career steals. Tony Mitchell had 16 points and JaMychal Green added 14 for Alabama (24-11). The Crimson Tide will play Colorado in the semifinals in Madison Square Garden on March 29. Green and Mitchell both had nine rebounds for Alabama. Great game tonight. Colorado will be a tough game, but if we play like we have over the last 3 halves it should be no problem. Most wins was 28, the 1986-7 team was 28-5. Other interesting tidbits. This will be the first time Alabama has played Colorado. This is the sixth time Alabama has made the NIT Final Four. This is the eleventh time Alabama has appeared in the NIT. Alabama's best finish was in 2001, we were runners-up that year.
