If PSU is in the top 5 an asterisk should denote that most of their wins were against Temple, Richmond, Rutgers, etc.

I'm not impressed with Big Ten (Big Two) victories either, but that is a little harder to argue.

This article just emphasizes the ineptitude of the NCAA in punishing coaches.  Teams simply ignore the vacated games.

BTW, OP, please forgive me; I edited the title to correct spelling.  It's a bad habit.

Vacated or not that is past for us. We can now win 10 or more games almost every year and even with a couple of championships posted in the next 4 years I think. I think the SEC run will be busted but it will be by the next BCS game without Alabama and some other SEC school. JMHO. RTR!

This is why I continue to believe that the vacation/forfeit of games is the most asinine penalty the NCAA can hand down. What does it really do except change THEIR official records books. In the end, everybody knows the Tide won those games it had to vacate, and that Calipari won those games his teams had to vacate. Heck, even vacating championships like with USC doesn't really accomplish much except vacate some wins and take a crystal football back. Everyone knows USC won it on the field that year. The only way to punish teams are through the bank account and scholarships.

I don't know about that. I think if your championship is rescinded it means something, especially years down the road. They can't really claim the BCS champion if it's taken back. Vacating wins is another matter.

Pete Carroll and some of the players on USC's team sure aren't going to stop claiming it. I understand what you are saying and agree that officially it no longer counts, but everybody with a memory knows that USC stomped a mudhole in OU that year. It stings some, but not like scholarships, bowl bans, and the like.
