Is this the best overall group of Special Teams you have seen at Bama?  I'm talking all Special Teams, KO, KOR, Punt, PR, FG and PAT.

I hadn't thought about it, but it's possible.  This team covers kickoffs and punts very well, which was a huge problem a few years ago.  I still get nervous every time Foster takes the field though.

Foster has been a rock this year.  No problems thus far!

I know, but it's a bit like Tiffin in '09 - even though he was great all year I just never felt comfortable when he was lining up for a FG.  (And how appropriate was it that he missed the last XP in the BCSCG?)

I managed to forgive him that one.
But, admittedly, I was drunk at the time.

I think so.  The best I can remember any way.  CNS was talking about that on his show the other day and he said that they never change what they do on special teams.  They do the exact same thing every year, and a lot of the guys are starting to learn the system now that they've had a few years of repetition.  He said that most of these guys that come to Alabama have no idea how to play special teams and they have to teach them from the ground up.  In high school they are all super stars and don't play special teams at all, so everything is new to them when they first get to Bama.

They may well be the best.  We have so many GOOD players that for one reason or another can't get on the field regularly but are too good not to play somewhere.  Then, of course, we have the very GOOD players that are seeing lots of time on offense or defense that need more game experience so they play special teams.  TR played specials when he backed up Ingram.  KD is playing specials this year.  Just another example of how Coach Saban develops special players!  And, unlike Georgia, WE have a special teams coach and he is good!ROLL TIDE!!!

The best overall special teams unit I've ever seen at Bama. Foster has become Mr. Automatic and I can't remember but a few times where the opposition has reached the 30 on kickoffs. Mandell is a terrific punter and the punt coverage is as good as the KO coverage. We've had some pretty good darned returns, too.

Agreed.  Bama has had some special players, like Arenas, but never the depth of athletes playing on special teams, players like Dee Hart who would be starting at other schools, as well as some starters still playing special teams.  Foster has been great this year, and you never have to worry about a team breaking one with him as the safety, although with the coverage it never gets to that.  Punting and kicking have been terrific.
