I finally got around to watching Episode ! last night and I was really very disappointed.

I felt that it covered too much time in history too fast and didn't give enough detail to develop the stories or the characters.

If I hadn't already read the book a few times and didn't already know what was going on, I wouldn't have had a clue who was who and what was happening or why it was happening from what was presented.

I should add that I'm usually disappointed by movies based on books when I've read the book first so maybe this was just another example of that experience for me.

I'll record and try to watch the next episode...but I sure hope it's better than the first one..........

I liked what they covered, but I do agree the pace was too fast.  They completely skipped over Jacob stealing his brother's blessing and Joseph being sold into slavery.  Plus they started with Noah.  But overall I am pleased that they are even doing a series like this.

Yes, I agree with you on that SC...I too am glad to see a show like this in prime time.

I would just like to see it spread out over a longer season rather than a mini-series so they could tell the whole story.  A lot of the Bible is boring to me and I suppose they are trying to leave out the boring parts and just show the more sensational parts and that's fine...but...the way this was done seems to me to be more like a highlight reel with too much left out to fully understand and appreciate the highlights.

It's sorta like reducing the whole SEC Championship Game to just Georgia's last offensive play and saying that's it, it was a great game and that one play is enough to cover it...yes it was a great game but that one play doesn't cover it.

I think Bible (the book) "fans" like us can keep up with the show better than someone with very little previous exposure to the Bible. I'd just like for those people to understand the events better and perhaps become more interested in learning more.  Maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong in my opinion and they will.
