Alabama got off to another slow start trailing 13-6 early before taking control of the game. 6 players in double figures. 7 players with 5 or more rebounds. Sexton did not play. 2-1 on Canada trip.

The Alabama men's basketball team defeated the University of Ottawa, 81-71, on Thursday night in the final contest of the Crimson Tide's 2017 Canadian Tour. Six players scored in double figures to lead a balanced attack for Alabama, which finished the trip with a 2-1 record.

CAJ continued to use this trip to evaluate players and different line ups.

"We wanted to take a look at different rotations because we had a lot of different guys playing tonight. We have a lot of young players and they all got their share of minutes. We looked at a lot of different combinations and I like the different combinations we can utilize this year – we can go big, we can go small or we can spread the floor. We had a chance to look at multiple defenses, so from a video standpoint, we've got a lot that we are able to analyze."

I watched the second half of the game and it was a pretty sloppy game but it was an exhibition and it looked like one. I think this was a brilliant idea by CAJ to schedule these three games, not only did we get extra practice time for this season but the game experience and game film should be a big help for this fall.

Yesterday I saw Coach Newton and his health isn't very good, please include him on all of your prayer lists. :(

I hate to hear that about Coach Newton. Prayers, indeed.
