Looks like I am going to be 4-6 this week.  Unacceptable. 

I didn't really spend any time this week thinking about the match ups.  I usually look at the schedules for both teams and see how they have done in their other games and who they played against.  This week I just went with my first impression.

Looks like I am going to be 4-6 this week.  Unacceptable.

Time once again to revisit the issue of whether this is all just dumb luck.

At this point there are roughly 29 players who have picked the games for each of the 9 weeks. If our picks were random, there would be roughly 14-15 winning records. There are actually 25 contestants who are picking better than even. A statistical test reveals that this result would occur by chance only 1 time on 10,000.

There doesn't seem to be spoor loser effect either, where the numbers are inflated by winners continuing to play as losers drop out. That core 29 has been in it from the start and all have stayed active.

So, it seems, we are the real deal.

With all of the talk about the outcomes being random I wondered if I was wasting time by thinking about them too much.  I guess it helped me a little, although it is hard to say with just one week.  I won't chance it next week though.
