Title: Top-Ranked Softball Heads to FGCU Tournament Post by: Jamos on February 14, 2013, 08:10:10 PM The top-ranked Alabama softball team (5-0) will return to the road to play in the FGCU/ LaQuinta Inn and Suites Tournament in Fort Myers, Fla., hosted by Florida Gulf Coast. Alabama will face off against Appalachian State, Wichita State, Georgia Southern, Southern Illinois and tourney host, FGCU. Alabama opens tournament play against Appalachian State at 12:30 p.m., on Friday, February 15.

The mercy rule is the game ends if you have an 8 run lead after 5 innings. Maybe we will get there. We have 2 on and one out in the 4th. The lead is 4-0. Sewell walks two then gives up a 3 run HR. Sewell has only given up two hits but she has walked 8. It was also good to see Jury come in and finish the game for her, this will help Traina as the season goes on.

Traina had a good night. She gave up 1 unearned run on 3 hits. She walked 1 and strukout 12. Leslie Jury pitched a very good 1 hit game. She struck out 9 and walked only 1. It is good to see her have a game like this. It will be good for her confidence. Kayla Hunt hit a slo HR. Haylie McCleney had another good game. She was 2 for 3 with a run scored and 3 stolen bases. It was good though to see the players in their half of the inning trailing 1-0 and get two runs to win it in the 9th. #+
