Title: Couldn't find "Meltdown", but this is just as good
Post by: 2Stater on January 13, 2012, 04:16:22 PM
Went to Tigerdroppings and found this thread. It's every bit as funny as the "Meltdown" threads. Enjoy, but be aware-LANGUAGE WARNING.

My favorite:

I went all the way through Tigerdroppings and could not find an "in-game" thread. Plenty of post-game meltdowns, however. Another good one was a thread about what everyone thought about Les Miles as a coach, which was started several days before the game. Pre 1/9/2012, it was all  :-* . Post 1/9/2012, it was all  >:( and  :pullhair: .

Thanks for finding the LSU In Game Thread. It is long but a funny read. They were down on JJ real early in the game. They were only down 3-0 and they knew it was over. One post said "It looks like Saban locked himself in a cave for 30 days and game planned the whole time, not sure what Les was doing".

I am hearing rumors that there was a big fight before the game between some of their players.  Apparently JJ had not prepared for the game like some of the players thought he should and had been out partying.  Some of the players went to talk to Les about it and tried to get him to play Lee instead.  Well, Les didn't take too kindly to that suggestion.  They are saying that is the reason he never gave Lee a shot the other night.  It is also the reason why some of the players never saw the field.  T-Bob Hebert was one of them that didn't play and talked to Les about Lee before the game.  This sheds some light on why his dad ripped into Miles at the press conference.  Les refused to put Lee in because he was being stubborn and trying to make a point to the players that he was the coach and he would decide who plays.  During the game I thought it very odd that they kept running the same plays and didn't even try to bring Lee in to mix it up a little.

I have no idea if any of this is true or not, but it certainly explains a lot.

At Work! Man this game is stressful and with this gump yelling and shite in here... I'm going crazy!

The gump here at work is rockin' back and forth in his chair. Wish he would pass out and bang his big fat head.

At least gump stopped rockin'... for halftime.

Well one more score and I'm gone. I can't take this gump anymore. Gump jumpin' up and down on EVERY single play!

  • you're suppose to run behind your blockers!
  • calling a fumble by Alabama right here. Just wait, within 1 or 2 plays it will happen.

I'm only on page 86 of 105, but here's some pretty good ones around the 15-0 mark.

Please don't show another shot of JJ's face. It's the dumbest thing I ever seen.

Poetic justice beaten by field goals.

If I was Lee, i'd find a beer vendor and a news paper and put my feet up on the bench and sit back and watch this sinking ship.

Quote
if I were lee, id kick Miles in the nutts on national TV

Quote
The MVP for Alabama tonight is Jordan Jefferson.

Quote
JJ has incriminating pictures of a higher up in the Athletic Dept. I have this on good authority.

Quote
Dominated. Plain and simple. And Les is doing his best BP to Tiger fans everywhere

Its ok. As long as I don't leave the house, dont turn on the local TV stations, dont look at the paper, dont watch ESPN, dont lookt at Facebook, Twitter, or this board, and dont talk to any of the locals for the next 3 years, this wont suck that bad.

Here's to your insurance sales career, JJ.

Hopefully this isn't a long night.

Yay JJ back in.

Can't believe they took so long to finally bring up JJ's arrest and all, they even made us a summary chart.

Why oh why do we have these slow starts. Drives me crazy.

This is why I wasn't confident about this game.

Rumors I have heard is that a large portion of the LSU team including the OC wanted Jarrett Lee to start or see significant playing time, and it got ugly just before gametime, and got worse at halftime. :? Who knows? The important thing is that they sucked arse for whatever reason. :D

he is defending Jefferson's honor now , apparently he don't like us calling JJ - George

There's a whole thread on WoollyAl developing this angle. But here's the thing. Every sports reporter on the planet was in NOLA for an entire week leading up to the game and a day or two after. There is no way in hell that something this hot is brewing in Whoville and one of them doesn't get a whiff of it. There might have been some disgruntlement with GJ's preparation at Harrah's, or with Lester's decision to keep Lee on the pines, but the mutiny scenarios being laid out on WA stretch credulity.
