Man, what kind of cesspool was Mike Garrett running?

USC pounded Hawaii 49-10 in its season opener Saturday, but also learned that an employee of the Los Angeles County assessor's office apparently gave gifts to long-departed tailback Joe McKnight and basketball player Davon Jefferson.

Just when athletic director Pat Haden, USC President Max Nikias and coaches Lane Kiffin and Kevin O'Neill might have thought they had fully cleaned up the mess left behind by former athletic director Mike Garrett and coaches Pete Carroll and Tim Floyd, more trouble surfaced in the report by the Los Angeles Times.

I saw this last night on an ESPN scroll, and I was wondering why this hasn't been talked about more.  I was beginning to think that maybe I just misread or misunderstood the scroll.

When you get caught twice with your hand in the cash drawer it means you are a repeated offender. Bama was told they were looking down the barrel of a gun when they were punished for their second offense and it makes me wonder how this will be treated.

I guess we can sit back and see if the NCAA will want to handle USCw with the authority that they handled the PSU case but I have my doubts. If I remember correctly it took them about 5 years to finally reach a decision on their previous major infraction.

Maybe the NCAA would be satisfied if Hollywood (USC annex) would make a movie about PSU. The NCAA guys would all wear white hats. The PSU Alumni Association could provide the extras in the scenes where the entire student body, alumni, and sidewalk fans gang rape the children. It ends with the NCAA getting nuclear capabilities and bombing Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
