The Only Good News:

We should host at least 2 NIT games.

...edit: maybe 3.

SEC only gets 5 teams in. SEC was not represented on the selection committee.

I cannot believe beating GA twice in the last week and going 2-0 against them does not matter.

There is at least 10 at teams in the field that we are better than.

We can win the NIT. I hope we have a chip on our shoulder after the NCAA snub and look at the NIT as a way to prove we deserved a bid.

You must differentiate between the autobids and the at-large bids. But you are still close. The ugly UK loss blew the "eye test" which is probably a prime factor with the selection committee "sidewalk" fans.

You are correct. I meant 10 at large teams that we are better than.

I expect us to play hard in the NIT and maybe even win it.  Then come back next year with a vengeance and go deep in the tourney.  Similar to the way the football team came back in 2009 after the loss in the SEC Championship game.  Think about this:  there is no way the players coming back next year are going to goof off at the beginning of the season after what happened this year.  They are going to be dialed in and hard core from the jump next year.

I agree SC, & the scary thing is, we're in serious dire need of shooters & adding 2 of the best in state and both are SERIOUS upgrades over who we have at SG now, both are long lengthy guys as well. With what we have coming back (hopefully this will motivate J.Green to come back for his Sr year to join Mitchell & Moussa Gueye)

The wild card though is Trevor Lacy, if we are able to add him & he qualifies, he takes our whole program to another level, very similar player to Dwayne Wade coming out of HS, easily the best out of the state since Gerald Wallace, a dynamic scorer that can put the team on his back and be "the guy" and easily put up 25 - 35 ppg in the SEC  as a TF I think if given the opportunity. yeah, he's that good
