I get the daily headlines from the Tuscaloosa News. They have a short section on Tide Sports but now that the season is here, they've dropped football articles. This week the news was about soccer, softball, cross country, and volleyball.

So I switch to the sports headlines from the Montgomery Advertiser. Their Auburn bias hurts, but they offer fans a free service which the News obviously can't afford.

Tidesports.com is your reason for that, they want sportsfans to buy their info.

Last year Tidesports.com was $60 a year. Now it is almost twice that now. I believe in a few more years most all sites relating to sports will be pay to view.

The Montgomery Advistiser is awful. Do you use AL.com? They carry articles from Huntsville, B'ham and Mobile papers. A pretty good free site.

I was a tidesportsextra.com subscriber. It was $59 a year.  When they sold out to rivals, they offered the next year for 59.00 but next year it will go to 99.00. I did renew this year but when it goes to 99.00 i am done. I think it's ridiculous.

I didn't realize that tuscaloosa news dropped their football coverage to get people to pay for it!- greedy bunch of folks

I didn't pay the 59. Years ago I use to buy the Tuscaloosa News Sunday paper for the read ups about Saturday's games. Then I started reading it on line. Then they started charging last season. I will just read CRS for my fix on football from now on. Plus other free sites.
