Thanks for the reporting. Same old same old. Sloppy play, lack of effort, failure to finish.
You in the fire CAJ column now?I'm not a jump on the bandwagon kind of guy.
We fired Gottfried, team got worse.
We fired Grant, team got better. (Probably not as good as Gottfried, but recruiting has been good.)
So we fire CAJ and hope we can convince someone outstanding to come to Bama?
If CAJ leaves voluntarily, it's different. We don't scare potential coaches into thinking they are on a short fuse and have to win at Bama, which is a challenge. Thinking they can get fired one season after making the NCAA Tournament second round.
Still, I think this team has potential, maybe next year.
Part of the problem is the University. It rewards those who purchase multi-sport season tickets with better football tickets. So those with means do that, but rarely show up for basketball games. I actually heard someone in that category say he bought tickets "to support the team," but he never went to basketball games. So it's hard to get good attendance, especially close to the court where the high rollers sit.
And face it -- Bama
is a football school.
So I'm not ready to fire CAJ just yet, but if he goes voluntarily he goes, and I won't be heart broken.
